For the moments that matter most.

Some pieces of our work are everyday. They live in pockets, on fridges, on the heads of people running errands. This isn't one of those.

This brooch is for the wedding day. The funeral. The milestone birthday of someone who loved their pet most. The brooch you pin inside your dress, near the bouquet, where only you know they're with you.

It is the smallest piece we make. Sometimes the smallest things carry the most.

Why this is our most-given memorial piece

Most memorial gifts ask the recipient to display their grief publicly — a framed photo, a candle, a wall plaque. This brooch lets them carry it privately. They can pin it inside a coat, on a scarf, on the lining of a wedding dress. Visible only when they choose.

For families who lost a beloved pet, that quiet, optional visibility is often more healing than a public memorial.

How it is made

  1. Day 1-2 — Photo review + proof. Our artisan plans the portrait, focusing on the most expressive features (eyes, ears, signature markings).
  2. Days 3-21 — Hand needle-felting. Built up layer by layer on a wool felt base. Eyes are hand-painted glass, set last.
  3. Day 22-25 — Backing + clasp. Solid brass pin set, fabric backing applied, optional gold border stitched.
  4. Day 26 — Quality check + ship.

Care instructions

  • Store flat in the gift box when not worn
  • Keep away from perfume sprays (will stain wool)
  • Spot-clean with damp cloth if needed
  • Re-shape gently with fingers if compressed

Frequently asked

How long until my brooch arrives?
4 weeks of artisan work + 5-10 days shipping. Total: roughly 5 weeks. Express Production available (+$29) for events with deadlines.

I'm getting married — can you guarantee delivery by my wedding date?
Yes. Email us with your event date when you order, and choose Express Production. We have never missed a wedding date in our studio's history.

Is this suitable as a sympathy / memorial gift?
This is our most-gifted memorial piece. Add a note at checkout and we will include a hand-written sympathy card at no extra cost.

Can I do two pets on one brooch?
For the Standard size, yes. For the Petite size, we recommend single pet only.

Can I have my pet's name embroidered on the back?
Yes — free of charge. Add the name in the order notes (max 12 characters).

What's the difference between Petite and Standard?
Petite (5cm) is roughly the size of a quarter — perfect for inside-the-coat or lapel placement. Standard (7cm) is roughly the size of a teacup saucer base — more visible, suitable for scarves and outer garments.

— OUR STORY —

Made by hand. Made to outlive us.

Heirloom Paw was born the day I lost Momo, my first cat. I had hundreds of photos — but nothing I could hold. Nothing my hands could touch on the nights I missed her most.

So I taught myself the slow crafts — needle felting, leather, hand-painting on shell. Six months later I held the first piece: her face, made by hand. Something with weight. Something my children, one day, will inherit.

Today, our small studio crafts heirlooms for pet families around the world. Made by people. Made to last generations.
